Acts 2:38 – Repentance

Synopsis

Act 2:38  And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I want to talk about this first word – REPENT. It is super important that we get it right. And it is vital to our Christian walk that we KEEP it right.

This was not a new concept, John the Baptist preached it, “REPENT, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Jesus preached it, “Repent or perish…”

Repentance simply means this: CHANGE YOUR MIND!

Too often we sin the same way, even after repenting. Why? Because we never truly repented. We expressed sorrow, regret, sadness, but not repentance.

Repentance is not an act, it is a lifestyle. When Repentance is an act, you return to the sin over and over.

Repentance is not a confession, a prayer, feeling sorry… Repentance is CHANGE!
