Acts 2:38 – Holy Spirit

Other Messages Synopsis Repentance is CALL for all to believe. Baptism is a COMMAND for all believers. The Spirit is a PROMISE for ALL BELIEVERS! In the Scriptures, the baptism of the Holy Spirit was EXPERENTIAL – able to be observed – repeatedly in a pattern. It doesn’t happen just because someone told you it did. It isn’t just that clean conscience feeling you get when you are baptized. You will know, because it will happen just like the Bible’s examples!

Acts 2:38 – Baptism

Other Messages Synopsis Act 2:38  And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.“ Baptism is a physical act that has a supernatural effect. There’s nothing in the water, but something happens in the water! The spiritual effect of baptism is that you willingly enter into a covenant relationship with God. When you are baptized, you have put off the old way of living, burying your past – the life that leads to eternal death – and rising again in your faith in God. There is a permanent spiritual mark put upon your heart. Baptism changes your spiritual identity!

Acts 2:38 – Repentance

Other Messages Synopsis Act 2:38  And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  I want to talk about this first word – REPENT. It is super important that we get it right. And it is vital to our Christian walk that we KEEP it right. This was not a new concept, John the Baptist preached it, “REPENT, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Jesus preached it, “Repent or perish…” Repentance simply means this: CHANGE YOUR MIND! Too often we sin the same way, even after repenting. Why? Because we never truly repented. We expressed sorrow, regret, sadness, but not repentance. Repentance is not an act, it is a lifestyle. When Repentance is an act, you return to the sin over and over. Repentance is not a confession, a prayer, feeling sorry… Repentance is CHANGE!
